Working with the Stan Originals marketing team, Carnival developed a fun key art campaign for WINDCATCHER, the inaugural co-production between Stan and the Australian Children’s Television Foundation. As a family film, our creative direction sought to convey a sense of triumph over adversity and to capture a sense of camaraderie and joy. While the film deals with sensitive topics such as the loss of loved ones and bullying, themes of growth and positivity were key to our positioning.
Windcatcher is a feel-good Australian family drama that follows the unlikely friendship between Percy Boy, newcomer Keithy Cobb and the spirited Daisy Hawkins as they band together to take the local school sports day title from a group of grade-five bullies. But as Percy Boy trains with the help of his mates, he then discovers his supernatural ability to see Lost Souls – a gift passed down from his grandfather.
Directed by Tanith Glynn-Maloney (Robbie Hood), written by Boyd Quakawoot (Black Snow, Troppo), and is led by new-comer Lennox Monaghan as Percy Boy and singer-songwriter Jessica Mauboy, as well as Pia Miranda, Jessica McNamee and Kelton Pell.
WINDCATCHER premieres March 28, 2024 – Only on Stan.
